The 50th Training and Conference of Trout Breeders, organized by the Polish Trout Breeders Association (SPRL), AquaLoop Associated Partner, took place on October 8–10, 2025, in Gdynia, Poland. The event gathered fish breeders, producers, researchers, government representatives, and aquaculture technology suppliers, making it one of the most important annual meetings of the Polish aquaculture sector.
The conference combined a training component with expert presentations on modern technologies in trout and salmonid farming, including innovations in feeding, water management, fish health, and sustainable production. Participants discussed current regulatory and environmental challenges, as well as new approaches to improving the efficiency and competitiveness of salmonid aquaculture.
A key part of the program was a session devoted to education and professional development, where representatives of the University of Gdańsk presented the AquaLoop initiative and other educational programs supporting training in sustainable aquaculture. The discussion highlighted the importance of cooperation between academia and the aquaculture industry to prepare a new generation of specialists capable of managing modern, environmentally friendly fish farms.
The jubilee edition emphasized the growing role of innovation and knowledge transfer in strengthening Poland’s position in the European salmonid market and concluded with a call to further develop modern technologies and education-based collaboration across the sector.
