AquaLoop at Aquaculture Europe 2025 – Aquaculture for/with Everyone

From 22–25 September 2025, AquaLoop participated in Aqua2025 in Valencia, Spain – one of the largest international events in the field of aquaculture, bringing together researchers, industry representatives, policymakers, and students to discuss the future of sustainable aquaculture in Europe and beyond.

AquaLoop was strongly represented with four presentations including three ePosters: Improving the Circularity of Aquaculture in the South Baltic Region – A Pilot Study on the Use of Microalgae in RAS Systems with Whiteleg Shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) – presenting findings from the TARAS pilot, carried out at the University of Gdańsk, Crayfish for Sludge Management in an Aquaponic System – showcasing initial results of the FISHVISA pilot, implemented at the Klaipeda University, and AquaLoop Cross-Border Student Exchange Program: Promoting Circular Aquaculture Through International Collaboration – highlighting the TrainingLoop work package, and one oral presentation: By-products Valorization of African Catfish (Clarias gariepinus (Burchell, 1822)) – presenting results of NEMATIC pilot, conducted at the University of Rostock, delivered in the Market & Value Chain Economics session.

Through these contributions, AquaLoop showcased innovative approaches to circular aquaculture, sustainable resource use, and cross-border collaboration. Our presence at Aqua2025 underlined the project’s commitment to fostering knowledge exchange and advancing solutions that connect environmental sustainability with economic opportunities in the aquaculture sector.

The event was also an excellent opportunity to engage with international experts, explore the latest research and market trends, and strengthen connections within the global aquaculture community.

Thank you to for the event!
